ELIZA WILSON VIOLIN STUDIO
Come Fiddle with Us!
This year is my second summer of fiddle classes, and I am so excited to work with you all. I grew up taking summer fiddle classes, and they were one of the highlights of my own musical education. Kailyn will not joining us this summer because she is busy ushering her child into the world.

Classes are meant to be flexible and individualized—it's absolutely okay to miss weeks for summer travel, and if you end up wanting to sit out harder tunes, that's okay. Each week, we'll learn one main tune, and there is one bonus challenge tune (Sneak the tune list here! Aural learners—I will be recording each tune ahead of time for you). We'll also discuss ornamentation, fiddle style, improvisation, and form. In the last week, we'll review all of our pieces, and then have opportunities to perform as a group at a nursing home and as street performers.
Tuition is $200 by June 24th (a $50 deposit is due at registration, and the remainder is due at the first class unless other arrangements are made). A $40 late registration fee is added after the 24th. Viola and cello students: contact me if you want to participate. Open to all ages—I typically have a good mix of youth and adults in my studio.
The Basic Class is recommended for students with some knowledge of the instrument already, but it is technically easier (approximately middle to late Suzuki Book 1 or Wicklund Book 1 difficulty, or one year of school orchestra). The Advanced Class is open to classical or fiddle students with more technical chops (approximately Suzuki Book 2+, Wicklund Book 2, or 2-5 years of school orchestra).
The class texts are not included in tuition—you can buy them online, or from me at cost (subject to availability). Both are books that will be useful long after this class.
Basic Class: The Fiddler's Fakebook: The Ultimate Sourcebook for The Traditional Fiddler by David Brody (1992). (Amazon)
Advanced Class: The Craig Duncan Master Fiddle Solo Collection by Craig Duncan (2015). (SHAR, Amazon)
